Gundam Assemble Expansion Pack Guide - Customize Your Mobile Suit Squad

Gundam Assemble Expansion Packs allow players to personalize their squads and mix and match battle strategies to create the Mobile Suit team of their dreams. Released regularly by BANDAI, these expansion packs complement the core game’s Starter Sets and Deluxe Sets, offering players continuous opportunities to deepen their tactical options and expand their collection of Mobile Suits from the iconic Gundam franchise.

The Gundam Assemble tabletop game brings the world of Gundam to life through strategic combat, where players command Mobile Suits in tactical battles. While Starter Sets provide everything needed for 3-on-3 games and Deluxe Sets enable epic 5-on-5 battles with scenario-based gameplay, the Gundam Assemble Expansion Pack product line serves as the primary way for players to continuously grow and customize their forces beyond these foundation sets.

What Are Gundam Assemble Expansion Packs

A Gundam Assemble Expansion Pack is a supplemental product designed to add new Mobile Suits, pilots, and tactical options to your existing Gundam Assemble game. These packs are released on a regular schedule, giving players consistent access to new content that expands their strategic possibilities.

Each expansion pack is priced at $40 MSRP, making them an accessible way to incrementally build your collection. The packs are identified by product codes ranging from EX06 through EX09 in the current release schedule, with new expansion packs planned through March 2027 according to the official BANDAI Hobby Site.

The core purpose of these expansion packs is to enable squad personalization. Rather than being locked into the units provided in Starter or Deluxe Sets, players can select specific expansion packs that align with their preferred playstyle, favorite Mobile Suits from Gundam history, or tactical needs. This modular approach to collection building means players can invest in exactly the content they want.

Current and Upcoming Expansion Pack Releases

The Gundam Assemble Expansion Pack release schedule demonstrates BANDAI’s commitment to regular content updates. The current lineup includes:

Product Code	Release Date	MSRP
Gundam Assemble Expansion Pack 06 [EX06]	January 2027	$40
Gundam Assemble Expansion Pack 07 [EX07]	January 2027	$40
Gundam Assemble Expansion Pack 08 [EX08]	February 2027	$40
Gundam Assemble Expansion Pack 09 [EX09]	March 2027	$40

This release pattern shows expansion packs arriving monthly or in pairs, ensuring a steady stream of new content for dedicated players. The staggered release schedule allows players to budget their purchases and decide which packs align best with their collection goals.

The consistent $40 price point across all expansion packs makes planning easier for collectors and players. Unlike some tabletop games where expansion content varies wildly in price based on the number of components, Gundam Assemble maintains uniform pricing for its standard expansion pack line.

How Expansion Packs Enhance Your Game

Gundam Assemble Expansion Packs serve multiple purposes in enhancing your gameplay experience. The primary benefit is increased tactical depth. By adding new Mobile Suits to your roster, you gain access to different abilities, stats, and strategic roles that weren’t available in your base game collection.

The mix-and-match nature of expansion packs means you can experiment with different squad compositions. If your Starter Set focuses on one faction or era of Gundam history, expansion packs let you incorporate Mobile Suits from other timelines or with contrasting tactical roles. This variety prevents gameplay from becoming stale and encourages creative squad building.

For players who have invested in Deluxe Sets that enable 5-on-5 battles, expansion packs become even more valuable. Larger battles demand more diverse rosters, and expansion packs provide the units needed to field multiple complete squads or to have backup options when certain units aren’t optimal for specific scenarios.

The regular release schedule also means the game’s meta and tactical landscape continually evolves. New expansion packs can introduce units that counter previously dominant strategies or open up entirely new tactical approaches. Players who stay current with expansion pack releases maintain competitive options and fresh gameplay experiences.

Building Your Mobile Suit Squad

Creating the Mobile Suit squad of your dreams requires strategic thinking about which Gundam Assemble Expansion Packs to prioritize. While the specific contents of each numbered expansion pack aren’t detailed in the reference material, the modular nature of the system allows for personalized collection building.

Begin by assessing your current collection from your Starter Set or Deluxe Set. Identify gaps in your tactical capabilities or Mobile Suit types you want to add. The Gundam franchise spans decades of shows and features hundreds of Mobile Suits, so expansion packs likely represent different eras, factions, and combat roles.

Consider your preferred playstyle when selecting expansion packs. Some players prefer aggressive, high-mobility tactics, while others favor defensive positioning and firepower. Expansion packs that complement your natural strategic tendencies will feel more rewarding to use and help you develop expertise in specific tactical approaches.

For competitive players or those who enjoy scenario-based gameplay, maintaining a diverse collection through multiple expansion packs provides flexibility. Different scenarios and opponents may require different squad compositions, and having a broad roster ensures you can adapt to various challenges.

Budget-conscious collectors can adopt a measured approach, adding one or two expansion packs per release window rather than attempting to acquire every pack immediately. The $40 price point per pack makes gradual collection growth feasible for most hobbyists.

Gundam Assemble Product Ecosystem

Understanding where Gundam Assemble Expansion Packs fit within the broader product line helps players make informed purchasing decisions. The complete Gundam Assemble ecosystem includes several product categories:

Starter Sets provide the entry point, including everything needed for 3-on-3 battles. These sets are ideal for new players learning the game system or for groups wanting to try Gundam Assemble before committing to a larger collection.

Deluxe Sets represent the premium experience, priced at $170 MSRP. These sets enable 5-on-5 battles and include scenario content based on original Gundam stories. Players can even command battleships alongside their Mobile Suits in these expanded games. Deluxe Set 02 [DX02] released in December 2026, with Deluxe Set 03 [DX03] scheduled for March 2027.

Expansion Packs bridge the gap between Starter Sets and Deluxe Sets in terms of both price and content scope. At $40 each, they represent the most cost-effective way to grow your collection incrementally while maintaining control over which specific units you add.

Other Products include items like the Gundam Assemble Scenario Pack 01 [SC01], priced at $55 MSRP and releasing in February 2027. Scenario packs likely provide additional story-driven content and mission structures beyond the scenarios included in Deluxe Sets.

This multi-tiered approach allows players to engage with Gundam Assemble at their preferred investment level, from casual entry through Starter Sets to deep engagement via Deluxe Sets and regular expansion pack acquisitions.

Important Purchasing Information

When buying Gundam Assemble Expansion Packs, several official product details warrant attention. The game is intended for ages 15 or older, reflecting the tactical complexity and smaller components typical of tabletop strategy games.

For hobbyists who enjoy modeling and painting, this represents an opportunity for customization. For players focused purely on gameplay, the unpainted figures are still fully functional.

Product specifications, price, and contents are subject to change. While the $40 MSRP is listed for current expansion packs, BANDAI reserves the right to adjust pricing or pack contents.
